خط طباعي صوته عالٍ وبارز، أزعر، يتحدّث العربيّة الرّكيكة، دائم الصلاة على النّبي، وبارّ بوالديه، بذيء اللسان، يتسكّع في الشوارع، لاهث الأنفاس من تدخين سجائر المالبورو الفيّاضة بالنيكوتين. صاحب جسم غليظ، صوت خشن، وبشرة وملابس داكنة. يستمتع بقصقصة البزر لساعات المساء على حواشي الطُّرقات مع رفاقه الغيلان، بعد ورديّة تنتهي مع صلاة العشاء. يتحوّل في وقت الشّدة من كائن كسول أزعر إلى شخصيّة صلبة ومتمرّدة.. هذا خط الغول الثّائر! يُعرّف «الغول» بأنه كائن خرافي أسطوري، مثل العنقاء والخِلّ الوفي. للعلم الخرافة موجودة داخل عقلك، أمّا الغول فموجود.
A foul-mouthed rascal with feeble Arabic, Alghoul is nonetheless a loving son who always speaks of the prophet (peace be upon him). His natural habitat is the street, and he breathes heavily from smoking nicotine-filled Marlboro cigarettes. With a large build, raspy voice, and dark skin, Alghoul lives on popping seeds for hours on end with his fellow ghouls, typically every evening after a busy day shift. You’ll usually find him on the sides of the road. When trouble calls, he transforms from a lazy creature to a reliable rebel—an embodiment of the raging Alghoul typeface. Alghoul is known as a mythical creature, akin to the phoenix or the loyal friend. The myth may live in your head, but alghoul pretty much exists.
نظيمة، طالبة مَعرِفة ليوم الدّين، من البلدة القديمة في قلب القُدس الأبيّة. مهتمّة في البحث بالصوت والرائحة والشكل، بتستخدم التصميم كممارسة بحثيّة تأمُّليّة وروتين يومي، بتتمرجح على معاجم اللغة العربيّة، وبتسبح في البحور الشعريّة من مستفعلن لفاعلن. بتحب تدوّر على الكلمات اللي واضحة زي الشمس وبتترك بصمة زي الياسمين.
Nazeema is a lifelong seeker of knowledge, from now until the end of time. A Palestinian based in the heart of Jerusalem’s Old City, she is an independent visual researcher and designer. Her interests revolve around voice, fragrance, and form, using design as both a contemplative research practice and a daily ritual. She swings through the dictionaries of the Arabic language and swims in its poetic metRES, with a love to search for words as clear as the sun and a desire to leave a trace as fragrant as jasmine.
