A bold and striking typeface, Shifra is defined by its sharp angles, smooth curves, and high contrast. It echoes the voice of the people and their unfiltered thoughts and statements at a time when trust has vanished amidst propaganda, misinformation, and media manipulation. Inspired by newspaper headlines and political articles, Shifra stands to amplify the truth.
تتناول أعمال رياض موضوعات الهوية والنقد الذاتي والسرد، مستوحاة من الأساطير والمساحة العاطفية التي تلتقي فيها الحقائق بالمشاعر. يعمل المصمّم والفنّان المقيم في القدس، والحاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في التواصل البصري، في مجالات الرسم الإيضاحي والتصميم الجرافيكي وتصميم الحروف، ويجذبه ما في الخطوط من بنية وإيقاع وثقل الثقافة، باحثًا بشكل دائم عن طرق جديدة في استكشاف الحروف، دون التفريط بروح الأساليب التقليدية.
Steeped in identity, self-critique, and storytelling, Riad draws inspiration from mythology and the emotional space where fact meets feeling. Working across illustration, graphic design, and lettering, the Jerusalem-based designer and artist holds a Bachelor’s in Visual Communication. Riad is drawn to the structure, rhythm, and cultural gravity of the script, always seeking new ways to experiment with letterforms while honoUring traditional methods.
